Last week was a very hectic one, with Freddy riding abroad meaning we were a man down at the start of the week. Then I was at Newmarket for the Guineas sales on Thursday and Friday.
On Thursday after the sales I hot footed it to Towcester to see Victory Rich run in the novice hurdle ridden by my brother Freddy, he ran nicely to finish third on only his second start over hurdles, getting pipped for second on the line, he loves his jumping and goes to either Ludlow or Plumpton on Sunday where he can continue to improve.
On Friday I was at the sales having a torrid time trying to buy a horse, unfortunately the couple of horses I was after made far more than I was prepared to pay and I had to watch them go to other purchasers, the day was made much better though as I watched on the television in the bar as Play The Blues stormed to victory at Lingfield on her second start for me, given a lovely ride by Eoin Walsh. It was a great shame I was not there but the main thing was she won, hopefully she will return to Lingfield again at the end of the month.
The rest of the horses are well, Gypsy Rider is looking to return to the track in a couple of weeks, probably around the same time as Moveable Asset and Rectitude, so we will be looking forward to a busy end to May.
