weekend 4th/5th October

BALLY GUNNER ran a very promising race at Fontwell on Saturday, finishing 2nd whilst conceding 22lbs to the winner Osmosia who was winning for the fourth time at the track. He jumped very well and it was great to see Bally on form after a couple of below par efforts, he enjoyed a bit of cut in the ground, the 2f up in trip and a drop in grade, despite carrying such a large weight and hopefully he can build on this performance

ELEGANT OLIVE, despite being pulled up before the final hurdle today at Huntingdon, pleased me with a neat round of jumping before weakening late on, which was not overly surprising as it was her first run for a long time and was over a 3m2f trip. Freddy did the right thing to pull her up as she faded quickly as the others accelerated away coming into the straight. She will come on hugely for the run and hopefully benefit from easier ground as today it was probably as firm as she would manage. She should return to Huntingdon for a similar contest next month.

GYPSY RIDER is declared for div 2 of the amateur riders 5f handicap at Catterick on tuesday, the ground is currently good to firm, firm in places, if the ground stays like this he probably will run, if they water and/or it rains we might not go
