This week will have seen us have three runners at Lingfield, Glorious Goodwood and Wolverhampton, as well as moving yards.
The yard we have moved to is much closer to the gallops in upper lambourn and is a purpose built american barn that is only 5 years old, it is very light and airy and the horses have settled in very well.
Bold Statement ran well to be 4th at lingfield, he will now get a handicap mark and find things easier when handicapping over a bit further.
General Allenby ran well for 9th at Goodwood, had he had a better start I feel that 6th place would have been achievable, for a horse so far out the handicap he ran very well.

Spring 2018

After a very prolonged wet dark cold winter spring has finally arrived!
The horses are coming into themselves nicely and have been running promisingly.
After a winter of very little action due to bad weather causing a bottleneck of horses in races I am finally getting some on the racecourse and I believe that there isn't a horse in the yard that can not win at least one race this summer!

General Allenby has run nicely in his first two starts over hurdles and really seems to be enjoying his hurdling.

Run up to Christmas

After a good autumn with a couple of nice winners, and a quiet start to the winter, I am looking forward to a few runners before the year is out. hopefully Mr Red Clubs will be running at Wolverhampton on December 18th in an Amateur riders handicap, it is his winning most track! On the 20th General Allenby might take his chance at Kempton in a 1m7 handicap, he was second in a photo here previously and the slower surface will suit him much better than Lingfield last time.
On the 22nd we will hopefully be off to Uttoxeter with Alanjou for a 2m5 Chase and I hope to run an as yet un named Tiger Hill horse in the bumper.

The end of this week/next week sees us entering a very busy stage of the season. I hope to run 6 different horses over this period!
these are:
Tibibit at Newmarket tommorow evening, This looks a decent maiden but has a smaller field than the handicap she was entered in, it is her debut on turf and it should be a good starting point after a while on the sidelines.

General Allenby at Beverley on Monday.  This race is just the right sort for this horse after his more encouraging run at Catterick last week (4th) and I hope he will go well

Gypsy Rider struck at Brighton on his second start of the season, gamely holding off his opposition to win by a head!  I am hoping that this may mean better runs from the other horses who may have disappointed in their first runs this year.
General Allenby runs tomorrow at Lingfield where hopefully a step up in trip may prompt him to show some form. the two year olds have started to up their work and are looking good!

It was a shame that Tibibit didn't keep up her run of good form the other evening at Kempton but an injury has come to light that will keep her off the track for a bit but hopefully she will be able to get back on the racecourse by late summer.
This is a bit of a blow to the yard but as long as the filly is ok that is the main thing.
The 2yos are enjoying being in work and it will be great watching them develop.

Tibibit has run two very good races in the last week, agonisingly finishing second on both occasions, by no more than a nose and a neck, she holds entries on Saturday at Kempton and Monday at Wolverhampton, fingers crossed she will get her head in front.

Two 2yos arrived last night from pre training with Mark Palmer, both looking great and had their first canters in Lambourn this morning, they are both lovely sorts and hopefully they will prove to be as good as they look.

The team at Henry Tett Racing are gearing up for a busy 2017. last seasons 2yos (all officially now 3!) are all back in work to get ready for the flat turf season, these will be closely followed by the 2yos (last years yearlings) who come in next week.
the older horses are on good form with Tibibit having run nicely in a couple of maidens.
Hopefully this will lead to plenty of winners around the corner!

Busy Week!

Gypsy Rider
was balloted out from Southwell so I continue to look for a suitable race, this horse is going realy well.

Play the Blues
is declared for a 1m Apprentice handicap on Wednesday evening, fingers crossed for a good run.

Light Gunner
is entered for a 1m Maiden at Newcastle on Friday, it is a long way to go for a strong race with a horse that still has maturing to do but with a shortage of suitable races I hope the trip will be worth it as regards to helping him turn out to be a smart horse next year.

So far this year has seemed to give us pretty incessant bad weather, warmish temperatures and few clear days and only one real short cold snap (enough for Newbury to be abandoned and Alanjou missing out on running) most of our jumpers being ex flat horses are not appreciating this soggy ground as well as lots of meetings being cancelled so we are having a bit of a drought of runners, Rectitude runs this evening over a mile, this is a change of plan from our original route of her becoming a jumper but with her being fit and well having a go at what she was bred for will probably not be a bad thing!
